I spent part of this morning copying down recipes from Messy, Thrilling Life. If you've never been over there, you better go quick! The author of that blog, Brin, is shutting it down soon and you'll be missing out if you don't read her a little bit before she's gone. Her recipes are wonderful and creative and unique, and she has lead an interesting life for someone under 30. She has been in my favorites list for a long time, and I will miss her.
But it made me wonder...how long will I blog? I have been at it a little over a year and I like blogging. I do. I like the connectedness to women all over the country and around the world that are interested in the same things as me. I like reading other people's opinions on things and seeing what they are going through.
There are times though, when I feel obligated to this blog and need to find something to write about. There are times when I don't know what to write and I have to come up with something. There are times when I feel like I am boring my readers when I only get two comments.
When will I turn it off? I don't think I will any time soon. While I would love to have more readers, I don't know that I could keep up with a blog like Pioneer Woman if I also had a job. It would have to BE my job. I like my little corner of the internet.
How long do you think you will blog? What drew you to it? What makes you come back day after day to read about other people? I am curious about these things. I wonder. Why are we all here, putting little pieces of our lives out on the internet? Let me know. I would like to learn a little more about you.
And, if you have a chance, stop by and read a few of Brin's recipes. I think you might find something that you might want to cook and eat. Personally, I copied down the recipe for Bacon Wrapped Chicken Tenderloins with Avocado Ranch Dipping Sauce. Yum.

Well Sissy, I started blogging to stay in touch with family and to keep them updated on Yaya as she grew. It was a place for me to put her little life in perspective for her. You will be asked to make an adoption book for your little one. I figured this would be a great way to do that for her. I had absolutely no idea others would be able to comment on my blog let alone would care to read it in the first place.
How long will I blog? Who knows. It makes me sad that several of my friends have suddenly stopped. It has been fun meeting ladies across the world who often feel the way I do. As a stay at home mom it's refreshing to see I am not alone in my day to day struggles or triumphs. Motherhood is the hardest and most rewarding job I have ever had. It challenges me each minute of each day. Sometimes even each second. LOL!
I am blessed to have met people like you and I hope you stick around for a long long time! Loved this post. Once again. You write really well.
Thanks for the link to that super cool blog...too bad she is going to be shutting down. I just spent some time copying the recipes she posted as well. I would love to buy her cookbook if she really does put one out! I can't wait to try the recipe for the bacon wrapped tenderloins with the avacado ranch dip as well!
Ah...blogging...
I am not doing as much as I used to...3 times per week, if that. I'm back to reading more frequently, desiring the things of God, playing outside with my kids, fasting and praying for New Moon (ha!), and living life. Don't get me wrong...I love blogging...I love my bloggy pals...but I just can't devote as much time to blogging as I used to.
LIFE, you know? I have to live my life!
Funny that you posted this today. I've been thinking about this a lot lately. My computer had some nasty viruses a few weeks ago so I couldn't blog. Now that I can I don't really feel like it. I'm hoping to get back into the swing of thing soon!
Good question. I feel the same way when I only get 2 comments...and have been known to only get 1. But I remember why I started blogging and it was really for me. To jot down tidbits of my life and my family so I could remember. I guess sharing it with the world was just an added bonus, so therefore I have to keep telling myself it's ok if no one reads. (although secretly, I am dissapointed). It is stressful for me though sometimes trying to think of things to say. I enjoy your blog very much. You are honest and sincere and I enjoye following your road to parenthood. I would miss you if you stopped.
Why did I start to blog? I think to let my kids know who I really am...not the mom...but me. We tend to get lost after we have children. But inside...there is me and I want my kids to know her.
How long will I blog? Who knows. I don't blog everyday. I blog when the mood strikes.
I live in a very tiny town in northern Michigan so reading the blogs and seeing all of the creativity inspires me and reminds me of who I am and of all the possibilities that are still hidden within my soul.
